The Neighborhood Where It All Happens
Masin Block welcomes Gloom Coffee — and together, we're redefining what it means to work and gather in Pioneer Square
Masin Block, Pioneer Square's leading destination for office leasing, alongside events and coworking — has found its perfect complement in Gloom Coffee, one of Seattle's most compelling new roasters. Welcome to the block, Gloom.
Meet Gloom Coffee
Gloom Coffee opened in January 2026 and immediately became one of the most talked-about new arrivals in Pioneer Square. A specialty roaster with a philosophy as carefully considered as its espresso, Gloom was built around a simple but powerful idea: even in the darkest weather, there's something worth showing up for.
Founded by Alex Sciarrotta, Nate Reppert, Josh Modisette, and Brandon Paul Weaver — four longtime coffee industry veterans who wanted to build something they could be proud of — Gloom is as much about people as it is about coffee. Their mission is simple: be generous, be consistent, and make every cup count.
The visual identity they brought to life — designed by Nathan Hanna of hanna house studio and recognized at the SCA Coffee Design Awards — is unlike anything else in the city. Warm cream surfaces covered in flowing, hand-drawn illustrations of little ghostly blob characters with expressive oval eyes. Moody, whimsical, and oddly hopeful all at once. The kind of place you walk into and immediately want to stay.
Masin Block is proud to welcome Gloom Coffee as a neighbour and collaborator. For anyone hosting an event here, Gloom is the obvious pre-event ritual — have your team meet there before setup, or point early-arriving guests its way. It's the kind of neighbourhood detail that makes an event feel curated. Because it is. Watch it come to life →
A Neighborhood That Has Everything
Choosing Masin Block means choosing one of Seattle's most vibrant and walkable neighbourhoods as your event's extended living room. Pioneer Square is Seattle's oldest neighbourhood — all red brick, iron pergolas, and tree-lined plazas — and it's currently experiencing a genuine renaissance.
Easy transit access makes the commute simple: light rail stops are steps away, major bus lines run through, and ferry routes connect from across the water.
What the Space Gives You
Events at Masin Block start at $225 per hour, with a four-hour minimum — a price point that opens the door to a genuinely stunning space without demanding the budget of a hotel ballroom. The team at UnCommon handles the management side: professional on-site security staff, secured access, janitorial services, a freight elevator for loading in equipment, and both standard and ADA-compliant restrooms.
The layout is deliberately open-ended. Past events have included intimate product launches arranged around cocktail tables, full-row seating for panel discussions, runway configurations for fashion shows, and standing-room networking events that let the architecture breathe.
